History ACR Braendii + Voegeli AG was founded in 1975 in Zurich, Switzerland with the original idea of developing and selling speaker kits, consisting of high-quality imported drivers. The special acoustic tuning and “guerrilla” marketing approach of the ACR founders quickly at- tracted a large fan base for the speakers throughout Europe. In 1979, Roland Braendli joined the company to strengthen the sales department and, with his famous sense for market trends, helped to quickly shape ACR’s product portfolio in this dynamic market. ACR’s commercial breakthrough came shortly thereafter: the signing of an exclusive distribu- tion agreement with FOSTEX Japan for their high-end drivers, which led to the development of the ACR “Isostatic RP” speaker series, which brought many test victories and almost instant success. Another major marketing step was the ACR franchising concept, which allowed many new “ACR” stores to be added and promoted their portfolio in every major city in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Benelux. During this period, ACR moved to Bad Zurzach, Switzerland, where its headquarters are still located today, on the southern bank of the Rhine, bordering Germany. The need for even more space then led to the decision to open a larger warehouse in Lauchringen a decade later, just a few kilometers from Bad Zurzach, but already on German territory. ACR’s marketing and distribution competencies also very well reflected the new trends in the market and new brands were introduced to expand the sales portfolio from entry level to high end for the best possible service to dealers and customers: “AXTON” offering excel- lent sound quality to customers with a limited budget and “EMPHASER” providing customers American car hifi at affordable prices In 2010, ACR signed a distribution agreement with ETON, for high-end car audio speakers “Made in Germany”, and acquired the car audio division and brand rights at the beginning of 2020. d e t r a t s t i w o h s i s i h T u e . r c a w w w . Founded in 1975, ACR AG is one of the leading distributors of car audio and car multimedia products in Europe. The ACR headquarters, with departments for product development, marketing, and sales, is located in Bad Zurzach, Switzerland, in close vicinity of the German border. Bad Zurzach is where all products, marketing, and sales strategies are conceived. ACR AG maintains a modern corporate culture with flat hierarchies and a “team spirit” which strongly contributes to success in today’s dynamic market environment. Close to 50 distributors located in Europe, Americas, Asia and Oceania countries add mo- mentum to the degree of brand awareness outside the German speaking core market.
